You Never Know
By Lee A. Nelson
Lots of lunches with the man.
He was relatable
very relatable
and I'm a tough sell.
Later it was beers after work.
I really liked him.
He had me at the veterans we are
and he vanished one day.
He went to prison.
So did his wife.
Their kids had been in cages
for many years.
And I had already lived
to experience
Bob Bierenbaum.
He had already taught me
to peg
evil.
You never know.
Live
breath
trust
laugh
love
and hold on.
Wise?
Whatever.
You never know.
