Kim’s diverse background includes stage plays such as a one-act for Conceptual Suitcases, a play comprised of stories written by high school undergraduates in 1986, and Something Blue, which she wrote and directed as a SUNY Brockport student in 1995. She also created commercials for Lakeville Jewelers and wrote and performed puppet theatre for local schools and libraries. She was Editor-in-Chief for a Rochester, NY literary magazine 2003-2004 and taught a series of community education writing courses for Hilton, NY and Greece, NY from 2004 to 2013.

Her freelance writing experience includes constructing instructional courses for the online education company Apex Learning, contributing scripts to the syndicated radio show Magic of the 80s, and producing training material for pharmaceutical companies, such as Biogen and Boehringer Ingelheim, as a content writer for Eagle Productivity. She currently develops blog articles for a chiropractor and leads a popular writer’s group she started in 2005 at the Greece, NY Barnes & Noble bookstore.

Kim has presented on various literary topics at conferences such as the Astronomicon, RIT’s StoryCon, and LCRW’s Write On Rochester! Her literary awards include third-place for a short story in Beginning’s Magazine, grand prize for the 2012 Write-On-Con/Reading Room competition, and first place in the Young Adult genre in the 2018 Next Generation Indie Book Awards.

As an author, Kim has published several books under a variety of pen names to distinguish the many genres in which she writes: K.L. Gore, K.G. Wehner, and Katrina Kissinger.
